5 Card Stud Poker
As old as the hills that is the best way to describe the opoker game of 5 Card Stud Poker which can still be found at several of our featured poker sites.
The game is available as a multiplayer game with up to 8 players, or you can play it heads up with just one fellow opponent.
5 Card Stud Poker follows the standard poker game play in which an Ante bet is required to be placed on the table, some small stake games such as $0.50/$1.00 require no
Ante wager.
After this Ante wager has been placed the game is then set in motion with all players being dealt two cards, one of which is face down and one face up.
The player who has the lowest face up card by which is decided by the suit will begin the betting with what is called a bring in bet which is always half the lower full bet.
His or her fellow opponents will then be able to fold, call or raise the amount to a full bet.
The game will then move into the second round and here another card is then dealt, to all players this card is dealt face up. Another round of betting follows with the player who has the highest combination of cards has to act first and he or she is permitted to either bet or check.
Should two players having equal cards, then the one nearest the dealer's left acts first. Should one of the players be showing a pair, any player may then choose to bet at the higher limit and therefore all subsequent calls and raises must be at the higher limit.
Next will follow the third round and as you may have already guessed yet another card will be dealt, face up, to all players at the table.
Once again the remaining players have another betting round begins and the player who has the highest combination of cards showing bets first. These bets are all at the higher limit.
The Fourth round follows and all the cards that are remaining to be dealt are dealt, one down and four up to each active player, a final round of betting begins. When the betting is completed all the players show their hole cards and the highest five-card hand wins the pot.
